Apple’s Big iPhone 17 launch event is over – and now the dust has settled on a flurry of messages, it’s time for us to summarize all the major highlights.
As the event ‘Awe Dropping’ name hinted, there was a lot of news. We got four new iPhones, including the long rumored iPhone Air, plus three new models for Apple Watch fans, including the flagship Apple Watch Ultra 3.
With AirPods Pro 3, which is also shown on Apple’s Big Shindig, there is much to catch up – fortunately we have done all the hard work and gathered all the highlights in a place below …
1. IPhone became equally thinner
After months of rumors, iPhone Air is here and replaces the iPhone 16 Plus with a new thin and lightweight design.
And oh how thin it is – just 5.6 mm, making it the slimmest iPhone ever.
Apple has also not had to make large compromises to slim it down to that size; IPhone Air packs the same A19 Pro chipset as the iPhone 17 Pro, a 6.5-inch screen with promotion, a single 48MP rear camera and a new 18MP main camera with the middle stage.
As for battery life, Apple only says it lasts “all day” – but we’re eager to test this claim for ourselves.
How much do you pay for this SVELTE -Form factor? IPhone Air starts at $ 999 / £ 999 / A $ 1,799 for the base model that has 256 GB of storage, but you can upgrade to 512 GB or 1 TB if you have deeper pockets.
As with the other iPhone 17 models, it will be available for pre -order on September 12 and to buy from stores on September 19, and you can already check out all the best iPhone 17 Pre -Order Agreements with us.
2nd and iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max also smooths out
Apple is very proud of its pro-level iPhones this year, with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, which brings apparently meaningful upgrades to the table in almost any department.
The most obvious change is the design of the new phones. Both the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max have a large camera block that runs horizontally across their respective back panels, which Apple calls a “full width camera plateau.”
This gene-jig-ranking module is important for two reasons: First, it has allowed Apple to introduce a 48MP-Tele camera, and secondly, it is released space for “the largest ever battery in an iPhone.”
Other upgrades to this year’s Pro models include a steam chamber cooling system and an A19 Pro chipset, both of which will help the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max to live up to their billing that the best iPhones Apple has ever made.
Pricing you are looking at $ 1,099 / £ 1,099 / AU $ 1,999 for Pro and $ 1,199 / £ 1,199 / AU $ 2,149 for Pro Max-So unchanged from the previous models, although there is now a 2TB version of Pro Max, which will cost $ 1.999 / £ 1.99 / A. Therefore the most expensive iPhone ever.
2. While Standard iPhone 17 became more powerful
Mixing things a little this year, Apple’s new standard iPhone, iPhone 17, has a package of upgrades that may just make it a proper generation step up from its predecessor.
Of course, you get a more powerful chip in the form of A19, but that chip helps get another eight hour video playback out of the battery.
And the life of the battery does not appear to suffer from the final inclusion of a 120Hz promotion screen, nor with a coating of ceramic shield 2 glasses to keep the high update speed screen away from scratch damage.
The new 48-Megapixel ‘Fusion’ camera system lets two rear cameras give head, 2x optical zoomtel, 48MP ultra-covering and 1x macro photography. If this system gives impressive photos, it may be the one to hit this year and into the next.
As a glaze on the smartphone cake, Apple has not increased the price of the standard iPhone, starting at $ 799 / £ 799 / AU $ 1,299; A minor blessing in the light of turbulent customs rates.
4. Center Stage has arrived on iPhone 17’s front camera
Selfie cameras may not be the most glamorous telephone feature, but Apple went big on them in the year-up gave all its new iPhones front-facing cameras with new square sensors and practical center stage tricks.
Center Stage works a lot like its Mac equivalent, and keeps you automatically in the middle of the frame during video calls and zooms out if you make a group of self. This square sensor also means you don’t have to turn your iPhone sideways to take a landscape self -self as it can just switch to the best image ratio.
Of course, there will be some pruning involved, but Apple’s shocked front camera resolution to 18MP to help compensate. It is a small but useful quality of life upgrade to selfie fans.
5. But there is no sign of the legendary iPhone Fold yet
Other tech companies are happy to tease upcoming devices before they are ready for their full disclosure – and in fact, Apple initially showed its Vision Pro all six months before the release. But unfortunately, there was no hint of the very rumored iPhone-fold and today’s Apple event.
Is that right? When does it arrive? How much does it cost? We have no more idea now than we had 10 minutes before the event ‘AWE -TAB’.
Apart from … the new iPhone broadcasts are similar to the kind of slim phones you need to make if you were to release a mucus folding in the near future … so see this space.
6. AirPods Pro 3 looks like a proper upgrade
Our 5 things you need to know about Apple’s brand new AirPods Pro 3 feature is the place to go to get the full scoop but in a nutshell: AirPods Pro 3 is here, which brings live translation and Heart speed monitoring to Apple’s ice white buds.
The mentioned buds are now less than before and boasts of five ‘foam -infused’ ear tip options. Prices have changed a little, depending on the territory. In the US, they are launched to the same $ 249. In the UK they are actually cheaper and launch to £ 219 (down from £ 249), while in Australia they are actually more expensive – up from AU $ 399 to AU $ 429.

7. Apple Watch Ultra 3 got a larger screen

It also gets all the new measurements, including hypertension, sleep score and Watcho’s 26’s new AI training buddy.
However, it does not come cheap: Prices start at $ 799 / £ 749 / AU $ 1,399. We still have an Apple Watch Ultra 3 Preorders page to help you find the best deals.
8. Apple Watch Series 11 has gone 5G
The Apple Watch series 11 meanwhile was treated with a few new landmark features by itself.
The series 11 gets 5G connection to LTE models, made possible by a new antenna architecture and a scratch-resistant ceramic screen covering. Plus, the long rumor LED blood pressure surveillance function has landed in the form of hypertension, and sleep tracking is improved with the new sleep result.
Finally, the prominent feature means: 24 hours of battery life means an upgrade finally from the old warm 18 hours.
Prices start at $ 399 / £ 369 for GPS-Kun 42 mm model, rising up to $ 529 / £ 499 for the cellular 46 mm size. We have an Apple Watch 11 Preorders page if you are looking for a great deal on Apple’s new models.
9. And there is also an Apple Watch see 3
The new cheap Apple Watch ends the range with the same S10 chips as its sibling Ure-Well allows SE 3 to repeat a lot of tricks in last year’s series 10, such as double-tap and wrist flick hands-free movements.
You can also play media from your new, cheaper watch if you assume you will. No battery life increases for SE 3, but it quickly gets charging as a comfort price.
