- The collapsible iPhone is apparently another step closer
- Apple may be by selecting a display provider
- Previously, Apple had struggled to find a satisfactory display
Apple has not officially said that there is a folded iPhone on the way, but the number of leaks we have found about such a device makes it very likely that it is under development – and there is another rumor that reports in day.
The well -known tipster YEUX1122 (via macumors) says Apple is now close to deciding a production partner to manufacture the folded screens for the folded iPhone. It is based on information from sources in Apple’s supply chain.
There is not too much more information here, but there is a suggestion that some suppliers of parts now come close to the standard required by Apple in terms of the fold display and the mechanisms that support it.
Previously, we heard that the folding iPhone project was on the verge of being canceled because Apple couldn’t get a bending screen it was happy with. It seems that these obstacles may now have been overcome.
Previous rumors
There have been plenty of past rumors around a folded iPhone. Back in November, we got news that the unit had passed the concept stage and was actively working on as a physical product that would be sent to consumers.
Recently, we have heard that the folded iPhone would have a 7.6-7.9-inch main display and a lesser 5.3-5.5 inch tire screen. The same source predicted a launch window sometime in 2026 to this long -awaited smartphone.
Other predictions had suggested that 2025 could be the year of the collapsible phone from Apple, but as we are now in February that seems less likely. Exactly what style of foldable we sheep book style or flip-style-saying to see.
While Apple has not yet launched a folded iPhone, the folding market has seen lots of new and advanced devices appear over the last 12 months-inclusive Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
