- Apple has released an important new update to MacOS Sequoia
- The update prevents a potential bricklayer question for users using DFU mode for device recovery
- It may be the last macos sequoia update before macOS tahoe 26s arrival
Apple’s MacOS Tahoe 26 is now on the horizon, scheduled for release later this year. However, Apple is not completely done with MacOS Sequoia, and it has just been released an important update for Mac users.
As reported by 9TO5MAC, Apple has released MacOS Sequoia 15.6, a new update with an important misfire. This solves a problem with Finder and Apple Configurators’ inability to recover devices from DFU (Device Firm Upgrade), which can result in a walled device if not successful.
Users must specifically enter DFU mode (which acts as an alternative to recovery mode to device recovery) for this to occur. While users who do not plan to use DFU can still be sure of Sequoia 15.5 (and older), it is better to eliminate the chance of masonrying a device solely by updating to Sequoia 15.6.
This can be one of the last updates of Sequoia we see before it eventually bends out to Tahoe 26, which promises a number of improvements to the macOS experience – it is already available in the public beta and it seems ideal for multitaskers and players.
With new tools such as Metalfx -Frame -Interrolation, a Game Overlay and an Upgraded Game Porting tool set, MacOS Tahoe 26 is another step in the right direction for Apple and its game support.
Analysis: MacOS Tahoe 26’s features make me wish I had an M-Series MacBook …
After using only Intel-powered MacBooks, I have discussed a potential switch from Windows Bearing computers to M-Series MacBooks for a while now and arrival of MacOS Tahoe 26 looks like the perfect time for it.
I’m a big player (if it wasn’t already clear enough) and I’m not against using a hefty sum when a laptop can provide unique performance in productivity and multitasking along with games. Yes, game-laptop computers are available, but MacBooks using the latest M-Series chips are similar to the ideal response because of their power efficiency.
I get tired of Windows for games and I’d rather use Steamos for its console-like user interface and better game performance-but to use discord for streaming to friends in Steamos’ game mode is not a simple task. Until it’s addressed, I stick to Steamos/Bazzite for handheld handhelds exclusively.
As for games on a laptop, macOS becomes a more appealing operating system after each update, especially with a growing game library with titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Resident Evil 4 Relocation on Macs. Apple continuously proves that games are on its radar and it can just convince me to attend the party.
