- A well-known analyst predicts a 2026 launch to AirPods Pro 3
- Some tipsters had previously suggested they would appear this year
- New Gestus-Recognized Cameras are among the rumored upgrades
Apple launched AirPods Pro 2 back in September 2022 and is still pushing new features for them – but it looks like we may have to wait until next year before Apple AirPods Pro 3 see the light of day.
According to industry analyst Jeff PU (via @jukanlosreve), AirPods Pro 3 is scheduled for a 2026 release. That would mean a full four years between launches, after a three -year gap between the original AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro 2.
We don’t get much more information beyond that for this particular leak, but that means you may have a little more time to save up to get Apple’s next pair of Premium earplugs. The 4th re-version of Standard AirPods was launched last September.
We had got our hopes for a 2025 launch to Apple AirPods Pro 3 by code mentioning the earbuds was discovered in iOS 26. Nothing is safe, but a launch this year now looks less likely.
What we think we know so far

There have certainly been lots of leaks and rumors around AirPods Pro 3 since 2022, so we have a pretty good idea of what’s coming – even though we have to wait a little longer for the big reveal of these upgraded earplugs.
One of the biggest changes is joined is the introduction of small infrared cameras on AirPods Pro. The purpose of these cameras would apparently be to catch movements to control the earplugs.
Of course, there will be some improvements in sound quality – which we would definitely expect after a four -year intervals between models – and there has also been talk that we will also see a number of improvements to health tracking.
Let’s hope the price is something that doesn’t change: Both previous models of AirPods Pro had a starting price of $ 249 / £ 249 / AU $ 399 and we hope Apple doesn’t have to raise that price next time.
