- Apple Watch Hermès users have been warned not to update their devices
- Specifically causing Watchos 26 Beta 2 update ‘Continuous’ crash
- For now there is no solution than to avoid beta -software
Apple Watch Hermès is one of the best Apple Watches, but if you own one, you will definitely avoid installing Watchos 26 Beta 2 upgrade for now.
That’s because Apple has warned users that the update causes the device to go down repeatedly – and right now it doesn’t seem to be a solution in sight.
The instruction was issued in Apple’s Watchos 26 Beta 2 release notes. Apple included the following Careing Council: “Apple Watch Hermès goes continuously if it is updated to Watchos 26 Beta 2. It is recommended that these users do not update to beta 2.”
It is a sharp reminder that you should not install beta software unless you absolutely need it, as it often comes with serious bugs that can adversely affect your devices.
It is worth noting that other versions of the Apple Watch don’t appear to be affected, with neither Apple Watch Series 10 nor Apple Watch Ultra 2 mentioned in the notes.
In case you didn’t know, Apple Watch Hermès is a special edition made with its own bonds and watches. Although Apple did not reveal the cause of the problem, it is likely to be caused by the Watcho’s 26 Beta 2’s interaction with some of these exclusive features.
Crash Loop doesn’t seem to be the only problem affecting Apple Watch Hermès users running Apple’s latest software betas. Appleinsider reports that users have experienced overheating and an inability to charge the clock, while users, if iPhones also run iOS 26 Beta 2 update, has apparently not been able to open the Watch app on their phones.
Be careful with betas
The error illustrates why it is always advisable to avoid installing beta software – whether for your Apple Watch, iPhone, Mac or something else – unless you really need it. If you need to move on, install the updates on non-critical devices as there is a risk that a problem like this can make your device useless.
This is the first big mistake we’ve seen in Watchos 26 so far. Although Beta Software always carries the possibility of unforeseen crashes and problematic behavior, Watcho’s 26 has seemed pretty stable since it was released to developers after Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) earlier in June.
The update brings a number of changes in Apple’s laptop, including the new Liquid Glass Design, an AI-driven training mate feature for fitness fans, plus call screening and team control, live translation for text messages, Smart Stack updates and a lot of other features. With good luck, they also do not cause problems for the Apple Watch Hermès users.
