Some users of the Apple Watch Series 10 report problems with the device’s speaker being quiet or muted since purchase.
Rumblings, picked up by an abundance of news sites, have started on both Reddit and Apple Community Support Forums and appears to have been going on for a number of months.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is the best Apple Watch for most users right now, only number two for the Apple Watch Ultra 2, and only came out in September. However, only a month later, a user reported a problem with volume, a thread that continues to collect steam.
“I have the Apple Watch 10. The speaker is low when they are on call. It sounds blown up when people are talking,” replied a user. Others also commented on reporting the question as recently this month, and the thread has another 43 “me too” responds to Apple’s web site.
Similarly, a Redditor sounds to say “I received this watch when it was first released, and 10 days later all sounds coming out, very staticky and muted.” The Reddit thread is less clear because the clock that started the discussion clearly has some kind of blocked speaker grill. However, other users report problems with crackly and distorted sound.
Especially a user got their watch replaced by Apple, only for the same problem to reappear on their new device.

It is possible that some users have this problem and are not even aware of it. The Apple Watch Series 10 is the first series model to include audio playback through Watch’s built -in speaker. As such, it’s not a feature that Apple Watch users are too familiar with.
The discs of the reports have let more users respond to acknowledge the problem. “Thanks to this article, I now know that I have a bad speaker in my Apple Watch series 10, said a commentator.” I have an Apple Watch Ultra (not Ultra 2) and this happens to me too, ”another added.
“I would never have noticed this (never play music/podcasts through the speaker, never take calls on the clock), but just tried to play a song and it was super quiet,” a reader told 9to5mac. Over Macrumors, commentators also report the question that breeds the head recently. “Oddly enough, I had literally had this problem yesterday. I woke up and the speaker sounded muted/distorted,” said one.
It is unclear how widespread the problem is or whether there is a special cause, especially considering that this is a feature that many Apple Watch users probably do not use and may not know that there is.

Later in the year, Apple is expected to reveal the new Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch see 3, the latter sporting a redesign for 2025.
