Apple’s Logic Pro to iPad and Mac can now catch your performances even when you forget to hit record

  • Apple has just dropped a pretty significant upgrade to Logic Pro for Mac and iPad
  • Flashback Capture will handle the recording even if you don’t start it
  • Vote -Splitters get more functionality, and a bit of Apple -Intelligense arrives at this creative tool

Apple has been on a roller with Logic Pro on Mac and iPad-in 2024, the tech giant initiated several AI-run features, including an impressive Stem-Splitter, and now, to the first major update of 2025, you can say it turns things up to 11.

Running the improvements for both Mac and iPad is a new tool that hides your brilliant roof, even if you forget to press the recording button. In addition, Stem Splits is an even more powerful tool, and Apple Intelligence arrives within the long-standing notepad functionality.

So let’s start with flashback capture – this is a renaming ‘Capture Recording’ and an extension of its capabilities. Whether you are a professional at Logic or maybe just upgrades from Garageband, you’ve probably experienced this when you start tightening on a guitar, singing a few chords or playing another instrument – greatness attack, but you forget to hit the plate. This feature has the potential to be a lifeguard as it automatically captures your performance before hitting a record.

With the touch of a button you can then make it appear on your timeline. As part of its rescheduling, the flashback recording now works with any midi source -or, more precisely, with any sound source. It also works if you play something while listening to another piece of your timeline – when inspiration hits, whether you’re starting to record, the flashback capture sort of day saves. This update is now available for Mac with Logic Pro 11.2 and for iPad with Logic Pro Version 2.2, both of which are now available.
