- New code in the latest iOS 26 Beta reveals that Apple could work on adding third -party photo generators to photo playground
- Currently you can only use Chatgpt Inside Image Playground but this new code suggests several third -party options in the future
- If this comes to execution, Gemini Nano -banan may be one of the photo generators added in the future
Apple seems to be upgrading photo playground in iOS 26, with new code in the latest beta, which suggests that users could soon be able to use third-party AI image generators than Chatgpt.
The new code revealed by 9TO5MAC suggests the new code for “Estimated Lattid time” and adds supplier identifiers, which means we are likely to see other AI image generation tools outside Openai’s in Apple’s Stock Image Playground.
This would be an incredibly exciting addition to Apple Intelligence and matches previous reports from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, who said Apple could introduce Google’s AI products in iPhones in the future, for example to Power Siri.
Google is currently Trailblazer in AI image generation with its latest model, Nano Banana, offering the best way to turn your text into images. Nano Banana also offers AI image editing features that would really improve image playground experience if introduced.
Image playground is available on compatible devices running iOS 26, iPados 26 and MacOS 26, and now has chatgpt capacities as well as Apple’s own LLM for image generation.
Although we have no idea when several third -party image generators will be introduced in the photo playground, this code suggests a huge upgrade to the original application.
A playground with options
The prospect of having AI image generation tools from providers like Google built into photo playground on iOS sounds absolutely fantastic.
I do not use AI image generation tools frequently, but having an original application that allows you to utilize the very skilled tools on the market without having to open a third-party app would really push Apple Intelligence and Apple’s AI offers forward.
The photo playground is, to say the least, limited, and although it was improved with iOS 26 by adding some chatgpt functionality, it could be even better if Apple brings Gemini’s Nano Banan on board.
Of course, nothing is confirmed yet, but these findings will soon suggest a very large Apple Intelligence Upgrade, and I just hope this will come to execution.
