The Arch Manning hype for the 2026 NFL draft began as soon as the 2025 draft ended on Saturday.

Texas Longhorn’s Quarterback was attached as one of the first few drafts of elections in 2026 when Mock Drafts began to be released. Several spotted drafts, Manning had either to go # 1 or # 2 overall. At least one caused him to fall to No. 8. Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts were tapped as some of the teams that could choose him.

There has been no indication yet that Manning will declare the draft after the 2025 season with Longhorns. He could still play a year more with Texas and refrain from the draft completely.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schafter warned earlier this month that Manning can wait another year.

“First of all, there is no guarantee that Arch Manning will come out after next year,” Schafter at ESPN said “Get up.” “It sounds like he could definitely stay over next year.

“I’m not a college -football insider, but none of the mannings ever went out early, and I don’t know, with zero -money what it is, why Arch would do it? So, all this conversation about tanking to bow next year, he could be in the draft in 2027, not even next year.”

He redeemed his first year in Austin, which means he meets the three years removed from the requirement of high school to enter the NFL draft if he chooses in 2026.

He is expected to enter the 2025 season as Longhorns’ Start Quarterback after having to wait last season behind Quinn Ewers.

In 10 performances last season, including two starts due to Ewers’ injuries, Manning threw in 939 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He also ran in 108 yards on 25 carrier with four touchdowns on the ground.

Penn State’s Drew Allar and South Carolina’s Lanorris sellers were predicted to be among the top quarterbacks in the 2026 draft along with Manning.
