Arch Manning enters his first season as Texas Longhorns’ start -quarterback with high expectations, although he has only started two matches in his young career.

Mack Brown, a former head coach of Texas and North Carolina, made another wild comparison with Manning, comparing him to the legendary Longhorn’s Quarterback Vince Young.

“He also looks like he is listening. He is very humble,” Brown said in a recent performance at “The Stampede.” “He said that too much is written about me, more than I’ve achieved. I mean he’s a little self -printing. But I like it. He’s a lot like Vince at the same age.”

Young didn’t have to throw too much in his second season as the team rode on the back of Cedric Benson in the back field. It was his junior season when he broke out, won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and led Longhorns to a fantastic national championship victory over the USC. He had 3,036 passing yards and 26 touchdown pass that season.

Brown also liked how Manning performed himself during his SEC Media Days performance last week and how he avoided questions about what other coaches had said about him.

Manning is more polished with the media than most – and he has had a lot of role models to look up to. He is the son of Cooper Manning, who was a high school football in his own right, and the nephew of the Super Bowl -Masters Peyton and Eli Manning. He is also the grandson of Archie Manning.

The line is there, but soon it is time to keep chain and play football.
