A friendly football match between Argentina and Puerto Rico has been moved from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale in the middle of an immigration snack that occurs in the city.
The match to be held on October 13 at Chicago’s iconic soldier Field is now held at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on October 14, ESPN reported.
Chase Stadium is the home of Inter Miami, the club of the Argentine legend Lionel Messi, who is expected to play in the match.

“Yes, confirmation that Argentina against the Puerto Rico match has been canceled in Chicago,” confirmed Chicago Park District spokesman Luca Serra on Wednesday to Associated Press. “The promoter made the decision this morning due to low ticket sales.”
While Serra says low ticket sales, an Argentine football association manager said the unrest in Chicago led to the move.

Argentina is also facing Venezuela in another friendly this Friday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, giving the team the opportunity to remain locally the following week.
A Pentagon official said 200 Texas National Guard troops were mobilized in a first period of 60 days. They arrived in Illinois on Tuesday to protect federal staff and property in the middle of protests against immigration.
This comes after more than 1,000 immigrants were arrested since a crash began last month in Chicago.

President Donald Trump said of the truth Social Wednesday that Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinoi’s head of government JB Pritzker, who are both Democrats, should be imprisoned for not defending us immigration and customs authority (ICE) officers in the midst of the crash.
“I will not return. Trump is now calling for arrest of elected representatives who control his power. What else is left on the road to full -blown authoritarianism?” Pritzker said in response to Trump Wednesday. “We all have to get up and talk out.”
Johnson also posted on X: “This is not the first time Trump has tried to get a black man unfairly arrested. I’m not going anywhere.”
The National Guard troops arrived “in support of the Federal Protection Mission to protect federal functions, staff and property”, according to a Pentagon declaration.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem said on the last Saturday that additional staff in special operations would be deployed to Illinois after federal agents were hit and boxed in by 10 cars. There have been around a dozen people arrested near an ice facility in BroadView where crowds anti-immigration have gathered.
