Armed robbers in Karachi caught $ 2.5 million from a poultry businessman and shot his security guard during the robbery.
The security guard was seriously wounded with a gunshot wound on his head and was transferred in critical condition to Jinnah Hospital.
The businessman who runs a poultry farm was on his way to deposit the money in a bank with his security guard when the incident took place.
As they drove near Korangi # 2, a Suzuki Alto car blocked their path and the armed robbers in the car demanded the money. As the businessman opposed the robbers, the robbers opened fire and fled from the stage. The bullet hit the security guard in his head, leaving him severely wounded.
The incident took place, just as Eidul-Fitr is approaching, with an uptick in street crimes and robberies in the city. Police were warned about the incident and SSP Korangi along with other officers reached the scene quickly.
Investigators of the crime scene were invited to collect evidence and police collected CCTV recordings from the area. The wounded security guard was identified as 35-year-old Amir Ahmed.
According to SSP Korangi Tariq Nawaz, the victim, Farhan, was on his way to the bank with his friend Basheer and security guard when they were assaulted by three to four armed robbers.
The robbers, who were in a white everything -bar, stole RS 2.5 million and fled after the shooting. The victim stated that the robbers were armed and quickly escaped after the crime.
Police have launched an investigation using technical and human intelligence and completed Pakinomist-fences in the area. Police hope that within the next 24 hours they will be able to track the suspects involved in the robbery.
Farhan, poultry businessman, confirmed that he was on his way to deposit the money in the bank as they armed the robbers blocked their car and took the money. He mentioned that the robbers were three to four in number and drove in a white alten car.
Last week, the armed robbers looted more than RS1.15 million from the staff at Peoples Bus Service in Karachi’s Gullhan-E-HADED and held them with a gun in a late evening.
According to the driver Sher Jan, the robbery took place at the last stop of the bus connection where he and other employees rested. Six attackers arrived in a vehicle where two stayed inside while four entered the premises. One of them wore a mask.
