Armed robbers looted more than RS1.15 million from the staff of Peoples Bus Service in Karachi’s Gullhan-E-HADED and held them with a gun in a late evening.

According to the driver Sher Jan, the robbery took place at the last stop of the bus connection where he and other employees rested. Six attackers arrived in a vehicle where two stayed inside while four entered the premises. One of them wore a mask.

The armed men forced the crew inside a bus where the treasurer and a transport officer sat. “They kept us with a gun and demanded cash,” Sher Jan told the police, adding that the robbers also seized a security guard’s weapon and cell phone before they fled.

The suspects escaped with RS11.5 million in cash and raised serious concerns about security at public transport nodes.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir confirmed that a study is underway. “We have collected evidence from the stage and a case has been registered. The suspects will soon be tracked, ”he said.

The incident has given rise to alarms among transport workers, now calling for stricter security measures at bus terminals, especially in the late hours.

CCTV recordings caught the robbers using weapons to plunder mobile phones, cash and other valuables, according to Express News.

The incident took place in a dandelion in Landhi No. 2 Model Park, where three armed robbers stormed the store and robbing the customers. The robbers who seemed to have planned the attack were seen on the camera that held customers up and took their belongings.

Despite the presence of several people in the store, the robbers managed to escape without any resistance.

The CCTV recordings, which have now become viral, clearly show the robbers who take their time while looting citizens, and then quietly walking away after the crime. Police immediately responded to the robbery report and arrived at the scene shortly after.

With the help of the CCTV footage, the police have managed to get a clear overview of the robber’s faces, and investigations are underway to track criminals. The authorities have contacted the victims who are asked to visit the police station to file formal complaints.
