Chief of Army Staff (Coas) General Asim Munir praised the role of the Pakistani media during the recent conflict in the Pakistan India and called it a source of pride and describes the media’s response to Indian business as memorable, expressed Express News.
Talking informally with journalists at an event that was held in Islamabad to mark YouM-e-Taskur (The day of gratitude), Coas Munir said the media had been a matter of pride for the nation, which emphasized that nothing was hidden and the complete truth was shared with the public.
He paid tribute to the media’s unique role throughout the conflict and said that the way Pakistani media responded to Indian media was remarkable and responsible and expressed pride in their performance.
General Munir, who celebrated the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and Marka-E-Haq, also said that the entire nation was united to confront the enemy.
During the conflict, several Indian media driven by war-driven rhetoric, non-verified and false claims.
These included accusations of an Indian attack that destroyed Karachi Port, plan to capture Islamabad and claim that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would surrender-aligned together formed by well-known Indian media and honorable journalists, but eventually proven false.
In contrast, Pakistani media remained calm and showed restraint and was primarily on information from the Inter-Services Public Relations and the Information Department while they posted.
