Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem got gold in men’s spear final on 2025 Asian Athletics Championships on Saturday and recorded a throw of 86.40 meters on his last attempt.
The event held in Gumi, South Korea, so Nadeem finish in front of India’s Sachin, securing second place.

Japan’s Yuta Sakiyama won the bronze with a throw of 83.75 meters, while Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage ended up in fourth place with 83.27 meters.
Pakistan’s second participant, Muhammad Yasir, ended eighth and recorded a best throw of 75.39 meters.
Nadeem maintained the lead through the last round with a series of strong throws. His third attempt measured 85.57 meters and put him in front of the competition.
He followed this with 83.99 meters on his fourth throw, which was stuck in the first place.
On his fifth and final attempt, Nadeem delivered its longest throw on the day and reached 86.40 meters and secured the gold medal to Pakistan.

This victory followed his strong performance in the qualification round one day earlier, securing a place in the final with a throw of 86.34 meters on his first attempt. This effort marked him as a leading competitor on his way into the final.
Nadeem’s gold medal adds his growing list of international results and strengthens his position as one of Asia’s top javelin.
Last year in August, Nadeem made history by winning the gold medal in the gentlemen’s spear final at Parisol and set a new Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters.
Previously, Nadeem was named the best Asian athlete of Asian athletics that recognized his remarkable results on the continental scene.
Nadeem goes to England after this championship to begin preparations for the World Athletics Championships in September.
