Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, a member of the National Assembly and the prominent leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has become the only legislator among 314 members who deny her monthly salary.

The daughter of former President Asif Ali Zardari and sister of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was elected without being postponed from NA-207.

Since joining as a member of the National Assembly (MNA) last year, Aseefa has refused to accept any government payment.

In June 2024, just two months after her severe ring, Aseefa announced that she would take no pay or allowances.

Last month, First Lady of Pakistan and President of Sindh Peoples Welfare Trust (SPWT) inaugurated Aseefa Bhutto Zardari the pioneering ceremony for People’s School, a transformative educational initiative aimed at promoting quality education and youth development.

SPWT, founded by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in February 1987, continues with his inheritance of uplifting society through education and healthcare.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was accompanied by Chancellor of Szabist and Sindh Minister of Health Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho with the Spwt Board, including Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Abdul Aziz Edhi, Khursheed Junjo, Lubna Khalid and Suleman Shaikh.

People’s School will be built in Karachi and is designed to provide an advanced educational environment. According to the first phase, the project will include primary school facilities, an administrative block that ensures a modern and holistic learning experience for students.
