Aseefa calls for action for health, dignity, empowerment

On the occasion of World Population Day 2025, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has called for a renewed national commitment to health, dignity and empowerment of each individual; Especially women, children and young people across the country.

World Population Day is observed across the globe on Friday (today) under the theme “to strengthen young people to create the families they want in a fair and hopeful world”.

“On this day we are not only reminded of numbers, but of life and stories behind them – by the mothers, children and families who form the heart of our country,” she said in her message. “Our focus must remain on ensuring that every mother is healthy, every child is safe, and every family is given the opportunity to thrive.”

Pakistan continues to face critical challenges in mothers’ health, childcare and youth empowerment. The first lady emphasized the urgent need for investment in family planning, education, social protection and reproductive healthcare, the cornerstones of a strong and inclusive society.

“This is not just a matter of development, it is a matter of dignity, justice and justice. By prioritizing the well -being of our people, we secure our country’s future,” she said.

The theme of this year’s World Population Day deeply resonates with Pakistan, where a majority of the population is under 30. She emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for young people to lead fulfilling lives, free from discrimination and equipped with the tools to make informed choices.

“Our youth is not just our future, they are our present. We must ensure that they have access to quality education,” she said.
