- Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag lead screenwriter Darby McDevitt also appears to be the narrative director on Witch
Ubisoft has reportedly appointed Batman: Arkham Origins‘ director Benoit Richer as the lead Assassin’s Creed codename Hexe.
That’s according to Richer’s LinkedIn profile, seen by ClawsomeGamer, where in his ‘About’ description the developer detailed his return to Ubisoft as game director on the psychological VR thriller Transferfollowed by Assassin’s Creed Vahallaand “at the moment Assassin’s Creed Hex.”
Benoit was level design director at EA from 2008 to 2010, after which he briefly joined Ubisoft, where he worked on Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2before moving to WB Games Montreal where he served as game director in the 2013s Batman: Arkham Origins.
The developer rejoined Ubisoft Montreal in 2017 and worked as a game director on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and looks set to continue in his management duties as director Witch.
It also appears that Valhalla narrative director and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag lead screenwriter Darby McDevitt will be the narrative director on Witchaccording to his LinkedIn.
Assassin’s Creed Hex was announced in September 2022 and is expected to be the next big original Assassin’s Creed game in the series.
While story details have yet to be confirmed, Witch will apparently be put under the witch trials of the Holy Roman Empire.
The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but Ubisoft is reportedly cooking up several others Assassin’s Creed game behind the scenes, including a rumour Assassin’s Creed replay and a Black Flag replay.
