Thanks to new dynamic seasons, the game really sings if you make it look right, and this is where we come to have played game collectively for hours and hours.
On most platforms, players must choose between three main states before further adjustments can be made to clean up. I personally am still pretty early in Assassin’s Creed ShadowsBut I have already been floated by how good the coastal towns of Sakai look like, with the PS5 Pro, which really offers a boost to all the puddles and beaches found in the area, and Rob, our managing editor is more than 60 hours in now.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a real step forward for the franchise that offers the best open world yet, as well as some really excellent action and stealth mechanics. You can read what we thought about the full game in our Assassin’s Creed Shadows Review, but unnecessary to say we enjoyed it tremendously, and it is now very much ranked on our best Assassin’s Creed Games list. Personally, I have especially enjoyed the investigation that is strengthened by how great the graphic is.
Here are the best Assassin’s Creed Shadows Graphics settings for PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X | s. I cover whether I should choose fidelity or performance state or whether it is worth choosing the balanced state.
Then you will find some specific settings that can be fine -tuned to clean up the image a little, although the game definitely looks good by default.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Best Graphics Settings for PS5
On PS5 you have the choice between three main graphics modes in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. You can see key info on each in the table below:
Performance Settings |
Resolution |
Beam that tracks use |
Goal benefit |
Fidelity |
2160p scaled |
Selective |

Balanced |

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an action-stealth game. As such, I would recommend playing it in performance mode on PS5, given that you get 60 fps (frames per second). Generally, you need quick reaction times to stay out of sight and take down all enemies that are about to spot you. Higher image speeds certainly help with this, and fight multiple enemies at once as well. The Cutcene and Hideout section is all on 30 FPS, but the gameplay will be silky, making stealth much easier.
If you have a display that supports HDMI 2.1 and is either 120Hz or 240Hz, we think you should go into balanced mode. You can access standard Raytracing at 40 FPS. This keeps the game looking beautiful while giving you some extra performance required for action.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Best Graphics Settings for PS5 Pro
Now on PS5 Pro, as at least with regard to graphics settings is the best place to play Assassin’s Creed Shadows on console.
In fact, it offers a massive upgrade compared to the basic console. As before, there are three settings to choose from:
Performance Settings |
Resolution |
Beam that tracks use |
Goal benefit |
Fidelity |
2160p scaled |
Standard |

If you play Assassin’s Creed Shadows On the PS5 Pro and has access to a 120Hz/240Hz screen, then you have what we think is the best way to play the game: Balanced mode on Sony’s improved PS5.
This setting allows for a decent image speed, and thanks to Pro’s extra power you will benefit from the game’s standard radiation tracking features. The reason for going with the balanced state is further visual faith, as a string -based hair system. This is the state I have played most on so far and finds it the best of the three.
If you find that you would rather have a higher frame you can switch to performance mode – you still get to enjoy the standard radiation tracking features there – and while Fidelity mode looks Incredible Beautiful, it’s locked to 30 FPS has us to go in the balanced state all day long.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Best Graphics Settings for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S
Let’s finally look at the best Assassin’s Creed Shadows Graphics settings for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S:

As you can see, the Xbox series X is in line with the PS5 settings for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. As such, I recommend performance mode. There is only selective radiation tracking to take advantage of here, but 60fps really improves the gameplay.
As with PS5, there is also a balanced state that is great for those who use a compatible screen.
For those with an Xbox series, there are no conditions to choose from, with the game locked at 1620p upscale and 30fps. However, there are some selective beam pording features which are a nice touch.
Other graphics settings for changes to Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Except for the main graphic setting Assassin’s Creed ShadowsI recommend turning off motion blading and chromatic deviation for a cleaner image. In addition, HDR must be set to your screen. Try to bring the exposure glass down a bit and see what it looks like, as some areas of the open world have very intense lighting and flower effects.
