Developer Ubisoft has revealed a roadmap after launching to Assassin’s Creed ShadowsIt detailed the free and Premium content that comes to the game in the first year.
The initial batch of content after launch arrives in early May with the first ‘story drop’-set new free tasks that focus on specific characters to give more in-depth back history. They can also introduce new player skills and world activities, giving you even more to do in the open world-celebrating Japan setting.
Whoever arrives in May gets the title ‘The Works of Luis Frois’ and explores the titular Jesuitic scholars and his historical role in the Sengoku period. It arrives with a codex update and some improvements to the quality of life.
This will be followed by a Parkour update in late May introducing height-wing-winning spraying, spraying of sides and a new vertical jump to grab low hanging rates. These come together with mysterious ‘special collaboration’ (details to be revealed at a later date) and some improvements to the game’s photo mode.
Another story DROP arrives just weeks later in June, with a new free quest and ally to recruit, plus new difficulty settings, additional immersion options, an open world arm system and the ability to disable your headgear in cutscenes.
On top of all this, Ubisoft promises that additional updates are on the way with free content for Animus Hub, a new game plus mode and an increased level cap for those who have already maximized their characters.
In terms of premium content Assassin’s Creed Shadows Can look forward to the arrival of the claws in Awaji extension a while later in the year, taking place in a brand new region and is set right after the end of the game. It has new enemies, abilities and a living staff weapon for Naoe.
If you did not pre -order the game, the extension will be available to buy separately. New cosmetic items are also added to the store in the game all year in ‘Store Drops’.
If you are eager to dive in, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version has also been rumored but has not been officially confirmed.
