At least 5 dies after dump -truck collided with rickshaws, motorcycles in Lahore

Lahore: In a shocking accident, at least five people died when a quick dumping truck collided with rickshaws and motorcycles after its brake failed in Baghbanpura on Wednesday.

The dumping truck collided with three rickshaws and two motorcycles and also injured four people. The accident took place near Aakhri Minutstop in the Punjab capital, according to the rescue authorities.

Among the dead, two little girls Aima and Hafza, a Rickshaw driver and a motorcycle rider have been identified while a person remains unidentified.

The bodies have been transferred to Shalimaar Hospital. Furthermore, the wounded have also been admitted to the same hospital.

The private dumping truck was hired by the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), and it carried garbage from Shadmaan due to Baghbanpura for dumping.

The dumper moved at high speed and as a result it ended on another path where rickshaws and motorcycles moved in a different direction.

In particular, Dumper’s driver Azeem dropped off the stage after the accident. In addition, police and rescue teams are present at the site and are busy clearing the road.

Road accidents have been on the rise in several cities in Pakistan. Many of them involve dumping cars and loaders.

Earlier on Tuesday, in a troubled revelation, it was known that at least 110 people have lost their lives in Karachi for the past 132 days due to collisions involving heavy vehicles.
