Four terrorists were killed during a joint intelligence-based operation of security forces and law enforcement authorities (LEAS) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwas (KP) Swat district, the military’s media wing said Friday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces and LEAS conducted the joint IFBO on April 18, 2025 on reported presence of terrorists.

“During the performance of Operation, the own troops effectively engaged in the Khwarij location, four Khwarij resulted in hell,” the statement states. Fitna Al Khawarij is an expression that the state uses to refer to the forbidden Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In addition, the security forces regained weapons and ammunition from the killed terrorists who, according to ISPR, remained actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area.

“Sanitization operation is carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area,” said it, adding that the security forces in coordination with Lea’s were determined to wipe out the threat of terrorism from the country.

The country witnessed a sharp increase in terrorist attacks in January 2025, which increased by 42% compared to the previous month, according to data released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), a think tank.
