Daisy Edgar-Jones and director Daniel Minihan explains the end of On fast horses.

The film ends with three of its protagonists being left alone. Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones) leaves her husband Lee after realizing that she is a queer and moving into her mother’s house, which her husband thought she had sold many years ago. In doing so, she also moves away from her neighbor and friend Sandra (Sasha Calle).

“We like to think that Muriel eventually came again with Sandra,” Daniel said. “It was a strong bond. But Muriel kept the secret all the time holding on to her mother’s home, which really means something important to her.”

“She seems satisfied (sic) there,” he continued. “Her mother had a big influence on her. The first time she really opens up to someone is to Sandra when she describes all the things her mother did and what an iconoclastic character she was.”

As for Julius (Jacob Elordi), he takes the horse he went to Muriel and Lee and drives out into the sunset.

Director Daniel says that despite fans thinking about the sunset scene, means something deeper, it simply indicates that Julius has left to look for the love of his life, Henry (Diego Calva).

“It is interesting that some people interpret him who runs in the sunrise through the desert in a different way,” he commented.

“Our intention was that he will find Henry and meet him again in Las Vegas and probably blast his life again,” he explained.

Edgar-Jones also explained that Muriel’s game gives her financial independence and free her from coercion.

“This trip with games is really interesting,” said Daisy Edgar-Jones. “She starts pushing back or rebellion in her own quiet way with it. She also does the same in her love life. What [the gambling] Gives her in terms of independence and the freedom to make choices based on what she wants, not of necessity, is a fantastic bow that it takes her on. “
