ATC FREES QURESHI, JOYS OTHER PTI leaders

In accordance with a recent order, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued “Warrants of Release” to the superintendent of the central prison Kot Lakhpat for PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, which is acquitted in two separate cases.

ATC judge Manzar Ali Gill issued Warrants in connection with eighty 768/23 and 103/23, both registered after the May 9 — riots that followed PTI founder Imran Khan’s arrest. Qureshi had been acquitted in the cases on August 11.

Judge Gill, who approached the prison superintendent, said: “This is to authorize and demand that you release the accused Shah Mahmood Qureshi from this case immediately if

Separately issued ATC judge Manzer Ali Gill a “guarantee of engagement in sentences of prison,” which directs the superintendent of the central prison KOT LAKHPAT for receiving PTI leaders Umar Sarfraz Chemema, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed and others in custody. In his order announced on August 11, Judge Gill also awarded judgments to PTI’s lawmakers and workers, and ordered the forfeiture of properties belonging to PTI’s former Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, and other workers under section 7 (2) of anti-terror-act (ATA).

It is noteworthy that according to judgments announced by ATCs throughout the province, more than 120 PTI legislators and workers have lost their properties. Previously, the ATC in Faisalabad had ordered the forfeiture of properties from 90 criminal sentences, while the Sargodha court in two cases had forfeited the properties of 30 criminal sentences in accordance with section 7 (2). 2, in anti-terrorism, 1997.

On May 9, 2023, PTI legislators and supporters staged violent protests across the country in response to the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan. These protests included vandalism of military installations and other state -owned buildings, including the Corps Chief House in Lahore.

A day earlier, an ATC in Lahore revealed its judgment in two separate cases 9 May and sentenced some important PTI numbers.

However, ATC, who held its case in a courtroom inside Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat prison, acquitted Qureshi in both cases registered in the wake of rebel events that broke out after the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan on May 9, 2023.

In the Rahat Bakery case, the judge acquitted seven of the 17 accused, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, but convicted the others, including Cheema, Dr. Yasmin, Ejaz Chaudhry, Rashid for ten years in prison.
