ATC judge Manzar Ali Yellow made a decision after hearing arguments from both sides. The case related to arson and riots outside Lahores Rahat Bakery and was registered by Sarwar Road Police Station.
Qureshi acts as PTI vocalist, while Cheema and Rasheed served as Punjab Governor and provincial minister under PTI’s rule.
Meanwhile, a lawsuit in Islamabad reserved his decision on a plea filing by Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who sought acquittal in another case on May 9. The legal magistrate Shehzad Khan heard the case at the Islamabad district and Sessions Court.
During the case, Qureshi’s lawyer, Ali Bukhari, appeared in court, arguing that several co-prosecuted are already acquitted in the same case. He pointed out that on March 8, 2025, the Court had acquitted other persons involved in the case.
Bukhari maintained that Qureshi was accused of trading on a video message from PTI founder Imran Khan, who allegedly led to vandalism. He requested the court to reject the charges against his client on similar reasons as those previously acquitted.
Following the arguments, the court reserved its decision on Qureshi’s acquittal. The case was originally registered at the Tarnol Police Station.
Separately, the consultation of another case related to Haqeqi Azadi’s march, involving the PTI founder and party workers, could not continue because of the inaccessibility of Imran Khan, detained by Rawalpindis Adiala prison since September 2023.
The court marked the participation of the other accused and postponed the case without further development. Attorney Masroof Khan appeared on behalf of PTI workers during the hearing.
