Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Director-General LT General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry informed Wednesday that Indian air strikes have martyrated at least 31 and wounded 71 civilians and promised a strong reaction to what it described as “barbaric aggression.”

During a media briefing, LT General Chaudhry condemned the Indian air strikes the night of May 6 and 7. “Targeting innocent children intended to see the spring-can of life this is called moderrorism?” he said. “This is terrorism and we will respond with full force.”

In a press briefing earlier in the day, DG ISPR had said that India performed 24 air strikes in six different places within Pakistani territory.

He maintained that Pakistani forces responded by shooting five Indian fighter jets and a drone. “India’s misunderstanding will be corrected,” he said, promising that any future aggression would be met with full force.

The aircraft, which was shot down, included three Rafale jet, a MIG-29, an SU-Series aircraft and an Israeli-made Heron Combat Drone. Jets were set up in several places, including Bhatinda, Jammu, Akhnoor, Srinagar and Avantipur.

A 7-year-old boy, Irtiza Abbas Turi, son of the Pakistani Army’s Colonel Zaheer Abbas Turi, was also martyrated during Indian air strikes last night.

DG ISPR added that Indian forces also hit mosques, desecrated the Holy Qur’an and deliberately targeted civilians. “What religion or humanity allows description of places for worship and sacred texts?” He asked.

The military spokesman showed air images of broken Indian positions and a brigade headquarters across the control line (LOC) and said that Pakistan’s answer was only precise and focused on military targets.

“When the enemy came armed, Pakistan’s brave Air Force shot against modern fighter jets,” he said, adding that no staff or aircraft from the Pakistani military were injured during the clashes.

According to DG ISPR, Indian forces raised white flags on several LOC sectors in response to Pakistan’s retaliatory attack.

The spokesman further declared that India’s actions threatened international civilian flights. “There were 67 passenger aircraft in the sky under the Indian strikes, with hundreds of innocent people on board,” he said. “India put them all in danger because of its madness.”

He repeated Pakistan’s commitment to national defense and civil security. “The Pakistani army will never compromise on public security,” he said. “The nation has been united behind the military and we greet their support.”

Earlier in the day, Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar said India had raised white flags along the control line (LOC), which he interpreted as an admission of defeat following the recent hostilities between the two countries.
