A lawyer in Argentina has requested an international arrest warrant for Hayden Davis, the founder of Memecoin Libra, Buenos Aires Avis Pagina 12 reported on Thursday.
Attorney Gregorio Dalbon raised the procedural risk that American citizen Davis remains largely and of his financial resources that allow him to be hidden, according to the report.
The lawyer therefore requested that “the international arrest of Davis be ordered and that an Interpolrød was issued to locate and arrest him for his extradition,” in a presentation to Argentine courts.
The weight Memecoin rose to a market capital of $ 4.4 billion before throwing more than 95% last month. It had been promoted by Argentine President Javier Milei in a now-plated tweet.
The president then withdrew on his promotion of Libra and said he had been unaware of the details of the project and that he “decided not to continue to spread the word” once he became aware.
Libras crash is estimated to have caused losses of $ 251 million for its investors, according to Nansen research.
