Aussie Basketball Player Wounded After Hoop Practice Accident

Ben Griscti, who plays for the Australian professional men’s basketball team, Adelaide 36ers, is on his way to improvement after he was at the receiving end of a back plate recently during the exercise.

The 36-year-old ended up with a broken vertebra after a back plate collapsed after a colleague’s basketball player’s dunk during last Saturday’s practice at the Australian Institute of Sport Arena in Canberra, Adelaide confirmed 36ers.

The damage forced Griscti to the sidelines to the start of Australia’s national basketball league season.

“Ben was injured when a back plate collapsed on top of him under the team’s shot on the AIS arena, in front of the page’s last NBL flash game,” read a news message from Adelaide 36ers.

According to Australian Broadcasting Corporation, a hospital was located within a five -minute car trip from the arena, but it took about 90 minutes for an ambulance to arrive.

“There were a number of other emergencies on the territory at the time of this call,” an official in the ACT Ambulance Service told the business.

“As soon as we were able to send a paramedic crew to the patient they attended and they transported the patient in a stable state to the emergency department,” the spokesman added.

Pakinomist Digital requested a comment from ACT Ambulance Service and the Australian Government Office of Sport, but did not immediately receive an answer.

Officials said that Griscti was “conscious, attentive and breathing” before and during the hospital’s transport. The team doctor had a tendency for griscti before the emergency vehicle arrived at the arena.

The damage is not expected to require surgery, the team said. Griscti has returned home since maintaining the back fracture. There is currently no schedule for grisctis return to the hardwood.

“He has traveled home to Adelaide, and a timeline for him to return to court will only be nominated before he is able to get further medical advice to determine the next steps around the management of the injury,” the declaration concluded.

However, Griscti noted via an NBL account on social media that he intended to “be back soon.” He also expressed gratitude for “support messages.”

NBL released a statement and partly said that the league was “deeply sad” after learning from grisctis damage.
