After a 2024 filled with price increases over Australia’s best streaming services, I hoped for a more stable 2025. Unfortunately, this is not the case, with several Disney Plus subscribers already sent on an upcoming award.
From March 28, 2025, Premium Disney Plus Monthly subscriptions will rise by AU $ 2 each month, while the annual subscription plan will see an AU $ 30 increase. Currently available for AU $ 18.99p/M and AU $ 179.99 annually, the new Disney Plus Premium Plan will put subscribers back AU $ 20.99P/M and AU $ 209.99. There is no word yet about whether the standard level will also see the same treatment, but we will update this article as soon as we get a confirmation.

So how do you control your finances without sacrificing your entertainment? Apart from canceling all your subscriptions and never seeing anything new, there is a streaming tactic that we have started implementing – and we think you should too.
It’s called Subscription Shopping: Jump from one streaming service to the next one, depending on what most people interest you. And for many people, Disney Plus is the perfect example of a secondary service that you may not need to pay for the year round.
For example, when Daredevil: Born again Releases in March, Disney Plus may be the first service to have for Marvel fans – but when that show is over, you can always cancel and jump over to Binge to see The penguin If you missed it at the end of 2024. And when you first bing it, you can enjoy a month or two of Apple TV Plus so you can catch up ResignationAt Shrinking and Slow horses.
We believe that two streaming services at any time is all you have to pay for, as you probably don’t have time to see much more. This will include your main service, be it Netflix, Paramount Plus or Disney Plus and another that you might see a specific show. Subscription shopping does not save you hundreds at once, but in the long run, being aware of your subscriptions can save hundreds.
Save in the face of higher prices
It is likely that Disney Plus for many subscribers may not have enough quality content to keep you entertained in the long term compared to the best streaming services in Australia. However, it will come down to personal preference and what you have already seen and it is not difficult to see why Disney Plus could be enough for some users. It strengthens its library with ESPN, and for parents, its children’s content is a practically a must-have, especially with the upcoming Pixar series Wind or loss Release on February 19th.
If Disney Plus is a must-have for you, a $ 2 price increase will not see you dump it completely. But if you are only there for a specific show, it may now be a good time to consider your subscription.
