WWE star Ava Raine, the oldest daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, faces calls for her dismissal following a social media post she made in the wake of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assault.
Kirk, 31, a right -wing commentator and close ally by Donald Trump, was deadly shot on September 10 during a campus event at Utah Valley University.
Tribute poured in from politicians and celebrities, but Raine, 24, drew attention to his answer to X.
With quoting a post that read, “If you want people to have kind words when you pass, you have to say kind words when you’re alive,” Raine added: “And I’ll be behind this. Please, now more than ever.”
Her remark quickly shared the audience. “And you think it’s kind to stand behind this?” A user wrote.
Another said she “literally respected the dead.” Critics demanded that she “do better” and some called on WWE to cut ties with her.
Supporters, however, praised her light. “A lot of respect Ava,” commented one user, while another said, “if only more in the business was brave to share their thoughts too.”
Despite the rebellion, Raine has not been fired and WWE has not taken any action against her.
