Star Batter Babar Azam is at the forefront of achieving two large milestones as the national page is set to meet West Indies in the open one-day international (ODI) in a three-match series Friday.
The match is held at Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad. The first ODDIs start at 1 p.m. 23:00 (PST).
The 30-year-old cricketer is ready to match the record that the legendary opens Saeed Anwar has, in most centuries of a Pakistani in ODIs.
Anwar gathered 20 centuries in 247 games and 244 laps. The former captain, currently in 19 centuries from only 131 games and 128 laps, only needs one ton more to match Anwar’s long -standing record.
Most ODI centuries of Pakistan are fighting:
- SAEED ANWAR – 20 centuries in 247 matches
- Babar Azam – 19* centuries in 131 matches
- Mohammad Yousuf – 15 centuries in 281 matches
- Fakhar Zaman – 11 centuries in 82 matches
- Mohammad Hafeez – 11th centuries in 218 games
In addition to multiplying Saeed Anwar’s record, the former captain is also on the verge of becoming the second fastest dough in Odi history to score 20 centuries.
With 19 centuries in 128 laps, the right -handed dough closes on Virat Kohli’s 20 centuries in 133 laps.
If he scores a century more within his next four laps, he will deter Kohli and become the second fastest to reach the milestone-baked only South Africa’s Hashim Amla, who achieved it in 108 laps.
Fastest players to 20 ODI centuries:
- Hashim Amla – 108 laps
- Virat Kohli – 133 laps
- AB de Villiers – 175 laps
- Rohit Sharma – 183 laps
