Balakot:
Situated at an altitude of 13,700 feet above sea level, the reopening of this high high-ranking has turned a significant increase in tourist activity over the Kaghan Valley and adjacent northern regions.
The scenic Babusar-Top connects the picturesque town of Naran in the Kaghan Valley with Chila under Gilgit-Baltistan via the Babusar Pass and remains closed during the winter due to heavy snowfall and treacherous road conditions.
With the arrival of the summer, the road has now been cleared, enabling a safe passage for travelers and adventurers on the way to the northern areas.
Officials from Kaghan Development Authority confirmed that the National Highway Authority (NHA) has completed the Road Clearance operation.
However, a formal review of the road’s reopening is still awaiting the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Mansehra. Despite this, traffic has begun to flow and the preparations are underway to ensure the safety and relief of tourists.
Law enforcement authorities have begun to create security and check posts along the route to control the expected increase of visitors. Several checkpoints have already been established up to the Besal area, providing monitoring and assistance to travelers. Resumption of traffic on Babusar Top is expected to benefit the local tourist economy significantly.
According to the Hotel Association, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of tourists from different parts of the country, with hundreds of visitors who now arrive daily in Naran.
Hotels, restaurants and tour operators report a sharp increase in bookings and activity and signalize a strong start to the summer tourism season.
Local stakeholders, including hotel and travel guides, have greeted reopened and are hopeful of a prosperous season, provided authorities continue to ensure road safety and timely communication on weather conditions and travel guides.
As the scenic route opens a breathtaking view and adventure options again, Babusar Top is ready to regain its status as a leading destination for nature lovers and excitement seekers from all over Pakistan and beyond.
