Key commanders from various militant groups in Balochistan have surrendered their weapons and promised allegiance to the state during a press conference held together with provincial ministers and senior officials in the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
Among the militants who put their weapons away were Najibullah, also known as Darvesh or Adam, and Abdul Rasheed, also known as Khudaidad or Kamash, along with others, Express News reported.
Najibullah revealed that foreign intelligence services had manipulated rebel groups and stated, “A foreign agency told me that they were not interested in Balochistan’s independence but only wanted to destabilize Pakistan.”
He criticized Baloch separatist leaders who live abroad and accused them of enjoying a luxurious lifestyle while warriors in the mountains are struggling to survive.
“Those who fight in the mountains can’t even secure two meals a day,” he added.
Provincial Minister Zahoor Ahmad Buledi condemned the exploitation of innocent youths and said, “A abhorrent game of terrorism is played in Balochistan. The therapists of these militants lure innocent children with false promises and take them to the mountains.”
Buledi repeated the government’s open door policy for reconciliation and urged others to surrender.
“The government welcomes those who shut down weapons, and have paved the way for misleading people to return,” he said.
