Bangladesh’s High Commissioner in Pakistan, Mohammad Iqbal Hussain, has announced plans to begin direct air traffic between Bangladesh and Pakistan, which further strengthens the bilateral ties.
Hussain spoke at a press conference in Peshawar on Saturday and emphasized the deep and historical relationship between the two countries and expressed the intention to initiate direct flights to facilitate travel and connection.
He noted that such a step would strengthen cooperation in various sectors, including tourism, education and trade.
The High Commissioner also highlighted the growing trade and diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan and declared that these ties would continue to become stronger.
He emphasized Bangladesh’s commitment to freedom of expression and noticed how social media has authorized the younger generation to express their rights, which contributes to a robust freedom of expression in the country.
In addition, Hussain pointed out the huge investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially in the health sector and the industrial sector, and encouraged companies to explore these ways.
He also mentioned the demand for Bangladeshi products in Pakistan, with trade in progress between the two nations via ship routes connecting Chittagong and Karachi, although the crowd remains modest.
The High Commissioner also entered the upcoming election in Bangladesh and repeated his country’s focus on economic development as a key priority.
He ended by praising Pakistan’s Air Force for its exceptional capabilities in the defense sector.
