The North Waziristan Tribal District of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has again emerged as a focal point of security concerns following a targeted explosion in a bank building in the heart of Mir Ali Bazaar.

In the early hours of Friday morning, unidentified attacks used to destroy a branch of a commercial bank that had been inactive for months due to current threats.

According to police sources, the branch had already been closed and its staff moved to Bannu in the middle of mounting security fears.
However, the building remained vulnerable, and in the days that led to the attack, unidentified individuals allegedly plundered furniture from the premises – pointed to a deliberate act.

No damage to the explosion was reported. Authorities have launched an investigation and collected forensic proof from the site.
While officials suspect the involvement of extremist elements, they emphasize that final conclusions can only be drawn after the investigation is completed.

In a related development, security agencies stationed in the Razmak sub-department have marked potential threats and requested restrictions on their operational camp.

In response, the District Administration has issued a notification that prohibits all forms of civil activity stays, movement and construction-in for a mile radius of the camp.

The order is clearly stated that any violation will put the liability of the resulting damage to the offender.

The recent events have given rise to anxiety among local residents and dealers calling for urgent and effective measures to restore peace.
