As the country’s policy takes new turns, Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Thursday back from four standing committees in the National Assembly in accordance with the directions of the party’s founder, Imran Khan.
The PTI chairman finishes four key committees in Parliament’s lower house. He served in the committees of law and justice, human rights, information technology and house business counseling.
At least 18 PTI legislators, including Barrister Gohar, have so far withdrawn from NA bodies.
The move comes as part of the political strategy of the former reigning party, which also includes boycotting the upcoming elections planned for the coming months.
PTI legislators began to stop the NA committees after the Pakistan Election Commission (ECP) in July and August disqualified a large number of PTI leaders over their alleged involvement in May 9, 2023, riots.
In addition to Barrister Gohar, PTI -Laws Faisal Amin Gandapur -brother of KP chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur -Shaharyar Afridi, Junaid Akbar Khan, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Amir Dogar and others have offered their resignation from the NA organizations.
Mnas Ali Asghar, Sajid Khan, Shahid Khattak, Faisal and Asif Khan presented their resignation from various NA committees yesterday.
Asghar stepped down from the cabinet, privatization and planning committees, while Sajid Khan retired from the overseas, national heritage and Kashmir-related committees and declared that he would even leave his assembly seat if instructed by Khan.
Faisal left the financial affairs, food security and parliamentary task force committees.
Khattak announced that he withdrew from all standing committees, while Asif withdrew from education, National Heritage, Culture and Information and TV Committee.
Separately, Junaid gave up his position as chairman of the public accounting committee and presented his resignation to the party’s headpick, Dogar, in line with PTI’s political committee directive. Party sources confirmed that the National Assembly’s speeches, Ayaz Sadiq, have received Faisals and Ali exempt trees.
PTI spokesman Sheikh Waqas also withdrew from all Na -Changing Committees. He sent his resignation to NA speaker Sadiq one day earlier.
Meanwhile, Imran also instructed PTI leaders to end the legal commission and describe the party’s participation in it as ineffective, sources say.
Barrister Gohar and Senator Ali Zafar are part of the Commission.
PTI had also announced that it will Boikotte the upcoming elections in constituencies of party members who are disqualified in cases 9 May, declaring these persons their “true representatives.”
Several constituencies are ready to get hold of when the ECP recently disqualified several legislators belonging to PTI in their beliefs in cases related to the riots on May 9.
The ruling Allied-Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had announced that they would jointly contest the upcoming election nationwide.
