Islamabad:

The Lahore High Court Bar Association and the Lahore Bar Association have challenged the Judges’ seniority sake in the Supreme Court.

Both associations have submitted separate appeals within the court against the Supreme Court’s decision. They have requested the supreme court to declare the five-member SC bench that reigns invalid. They also requested the court to set aside the decision and the steps taken in the wake of the judgment in accordance.

Meanwhile, Islamabad High Court’s Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani has decided to challenge the seniority of IHC chief Sarfraz Dogar.

The sources said that legal consultation is underway to challenge the president’s decision to declare Justice Dogar as IHC senior most judge and justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani as Senior Puisne judge. It is relevant to mention that an SC bench of five members had declared the transfer of Justice Dogar in the IHC constitutional. The Supreme Court’s constitutional bench had referred the issue of seniority to the president.

Five judges in IHC have already filed a legal appeal against the decision.
