Baseball game occurs in chaos after home -riots party Spark’s mass spraying

Tensions flared during Saturday’s NCAA baseball match between Samford and Mercer.

Samford Outfielder Michael Gupton hit a two-run Homer to increase Bulldogs’ lead over Mercer Bears. Gupton seemed to shout something on Mercer players under his lively jog around the bases.

Gupton’s words seemed to target at least one player on basebalt diamond as well as Mercer -Dugout. Gupton eventually touched the home plate and celebrated with his Samford teammates.

A visibly frustrated Mercer short stop, Bradley Frye, tried to follow Gupton and had to be held back by Umpires. Mercer trainers also expressed their frustrations to the judges.

Mercer players then began to leave the rules of the game in apparent protest.

Several Mercer players had to be held back in Dugout.

Southern Conference Commissioner Michael Cross was present for the game and was eventually seen talking to the judges.

Gupton and Frye were thrown out of the game after a video review. Coach was also thrown out where Samford assistant Gil Walkes and Mercer Pitching coach Tanner Gordon received draft.

Frye’s mother was also shown the door after she was seen standing standing and jumping on top of Dugout moments after she was told about her son’s draft. Other Mercer fans were thrown out after they entered the Dugout roof.

The game was delayed for about 25 minutes.

Samford ultimately celebrated a 5-1 win on Saturday. The victory stopped Samford’s ticket to the Socon Championship Game.
