- OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro tipped for launch
- Will be fully revealed on March 19th
- Bass and ANC are mentioned in the company’s poster
The best earphones out there offer natural, nuanced sound profiles to pull every fiber from your music – but ban the thought of them, we’re talking about some of the best cheap earphones that like to kick you in the teeth with bass, bass and more bass.
A new challenger enters the fray, in the form of the word salad OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro. OnePlus has confirmed that these buds will be announced on March 19, 2025, with a few hints about what to expect.
What’s in a Name? Well, hidden in this thesis-length title we see ‘Nord’, which indicates that these are quite affordable earphones (even more so than its normal options, like the OnePlus Buds 4, which had inexplicably good noise reduction, but were otherwise average budget buds).

The Nord Buds 3 Pro are getting a bit long in the tooth now, after their 2024 release, so it’s about time we saw a younger model.
The Life and Times of Max Bass
As well as confirming the release date of the new earbuds, OnePlus shared an image of them – they’re basically your average AirPods-like true wireless devices – and the slogan “Quiet Space. Max Bass”.
We’ve racked our brains to understand what this could mean – initially we thought Max Bass was the name of OnePlus’ new intern, but we couldn’t find anyone by that name on LinkedIn. Nor does he seem like the protagonist of a 1920s adventure series.
No, this is confirmation that the two focal points of the new Nord buds are their noise reduction and bass capability. That’s pretty unsurprising when you look at other budget earphones, especially OnePlus options, where the main differentiating point is how easily non-bass frequencies come through.
I’m kidding, and it’s easy to roll our eyes at even more budget, bassy earphones given how many of them we see, but there’s clearly a large audience of buyers who prefer things this way. If the brand cranks up the ANC and bass to 11, they’ll likely go down just as well as previous models.
And OnePlus’ earphones offer pretty good value for money, so we’re not knocking these until we’ve tried them.
