Beatles icon Ring Starr’s son not cut out for the stage?

Sir Ringo Starr’s son, Zak Starkey, was certainly nervous before playing The Cavern.

Even though he had only visited his father’s hometown once and had never decided to enter the famous music venue where the legendary rock band – which also included Sir Paul McCartney and the late John Lennon and George Harrison – started out.

But after the group, Mantra of The Cosmos, was completed by Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder and Bez and former Oasis bassist Andy Bell, they played two shows there in one day, calling it a “surreal” experience.

Ahead of the shows, the former Oasis drummer reached out to famed guitarist Noel Gallagher for reassurance.

“It was very surreal. I was s****** it – proper ****** it until I got up there and it was amazing. The music is like sacred music isn’t it,” Zak told the Liverpool Echo and talked about his experience while making the show.

Revealing the conversation he had with Noel, Zak mentioned: “Before I was s****** my pants. I was sitting in my room and I’m texting Noel saying I was s*** . He said, ‘Get down there and get on, what are you talking about?'”

Mantra Of The Cosmos have only played a handful of shows, including debuting at Glastonbury in 2023.
