Beats are no stranger to teasing the upcoming hardware-thinking earplugs or speakers on its social channels, and earlier today did the Apple-owned brand just that. This team teases Powerbeats Fit, which seems to be the next generation of the popular Beats Fit Pro -ear plugs and at the same time a reorganization.
These earplugs appear to “fit each movement. It is probably a nod to the in-ear design of these that uses a wing tip to fit tightly and safely in the ear, as opposed to Powerbeats Pro 2 that is wrapped around the ear.
Beats Fit Pro first launched back in November 2021 and has been on the market with several new colors, including a partnership with Kim Kardashian. These earplugs are still filling a nice place in the Beats set -up, but compared to Powerbeats Pro 2 there are definitely a few upgrades that I hope we see soon when the sequel falls when Powerbeats fits.
The teaser ends with a promised launch for the fall of 2025, which could occur in the middle of S. September, October or November this year. With that in mind, here are three things we hope Powerbeats Fit will offer.
The arrival of heart rate tracking
Given the Powerbeats Pro 2, the HEART-rate tracking feature introduced, and AirPods Pro 3 is joined to offer capacity too, I hope we see that these are arriving in the smaller, lighter form factor for Powerbeats FIT.
Yes, the actual tracking is a bit limited and if you are in the Apple ecosystem with an Apple Watch, the laptop will override the earplugs. Still, the earbuds would offer tracking ability when both are in your ears for selected training apps, as well as on Android via the Companion Beats app. It would strengthen the feature that is set here a little as we assume that the Powerbeats pass will contain active noise cancellation and a transparent state such as Beats Fit Pro.
To operate the arrival of the heart rate tracking sensor, we would expect to see a leap in silicon that also drives these earplugs. Currently, the Beats Fit Pro has the Apple-Made H1 chip, but the Powerbeats Fit would hopefully step into more modern territory with them like H2-CHIP, the same that drives Powerbeats Pro 2.
One step up in durability
Beats Fit Pro is currently offering IPX4 sweat and water resistance, which means they can survive light gusts. And it’s also the same degree of durability that Powerbeats Pro 2 offers, but given that beats tease these with professional athletes, and many beats earplugs or headphones owners like to use them during training, running or general training, an upgrade in this regard would be at least IP55 or IPX7 to see.
However, given the assessment of Powerbeats Pro 2, this may be less likely – especially as it seems that beats keep the existing design here.
A longer runtime
The Beats Fit Pro currently offers six hours of noise cancellation turned on and seven hours with that condition off. You get a few recharges in the case that beats saying offers 24 hours of battery life.
I would like to see one step up here, at least closer to the excellent Runtime of Powerbeats Pro 2 – These earplugs offer 10 hours of playback and 45 hours when you enter into the case. That’s a fantastic number, and although the Powerbeats care seems to be a little smaller than these, the newer chip and maybe some improvements in battery technology could help make this come true.
Similar to the transition from Powerbeats Pro to Powerbeats Pro 2, we get to see if the design team at Beats was able to slim the case size here. Fingers crossed that it is clinging with a USB-C port.
The good news is that, given the Beats, we sent the teaser today, on August 28, 2025, we probably only have a few weeks to go. Given that beats rarely appear during Apple events, we are unlikely to learn more about it on September 9, 2025, the event. However, beats are likely to share more in the weeks following it and officially introduce Powerbeats Fit.
Let’s just hope the price remains competitive as Beats Fit Pro currently has an MSRP of $ 199 / £ 199 / AU $ 299.
