Being refugees not a crime says cm

Lahore:

Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has claimed that being a refugee is not a crime.

“It’s a cruel coercion. No one becomes a refugee of one’s own desire. One has to leave one’s home, one’s earth to save one’s life,” she said in her message on the world’s refugee day.

She highlighted, “The wars ended, but the feeling of homelessness in refugees remains for generations. The helplessness of displaced refugees in Palestine and Syria pose a serious test for humanity. The world must realize the serious reality that those seeking asylum are not weak but suppressed.”

She outlined, “Despite scarce resources, Pakistan has generously hosted millions of refugees by maintaining their dignity and esteem. Pakistan has always become a high voice from the oppressed and will continue to raise his voice for welfare for refugees across the globe.
