Benedict Cumberbatch told how his outlook on life changed since becoming a father.
The Doctor Strange star recently chatted with Black on Wednesday, January 22, about his experience with fatherhood.
During the conversation, Cumberbatch revealed that since taking on his role as a father, his priorities in life have changed.
“The moment you have children, this sense of time sinks in much more deeply,” he told the publisher.
The 48-year-old actor went on to say: “My youngest turns 6 tomorrow and I’m like, ‘I want to be in my 60s when he’s 21,’ you know? It’s crazy. It’s gone so fast. “
“So there’s a big shift in priorities,” the Marvel actor said, adding, “And it makes you appreciate what you’re doing with your life in a very different way.”
“It weighs on me. When you become a parent, your thoughts turn more towards mortality,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention that Benedict Cumberbatch shares three sons Christopher, 9, Hal, 7 and Finn, 6, with his wife Sophie Hunter.
Back in February 2022, Cumberbatch fell over his wife while giving an acceptance speech when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“Together we have created an amazing family of three extraordinary little people, about whom again I would say a lot, but you know how I feel about them and it is public.”
