Cincinnati Bengals could face a big setback with Star Quarterback Joe Burrow.
Burrow left Sunday’s victory over Jacksonville Jaguars with a toe injury, and the NFL Network reported he fears having Grade 3 -TorvĂ„. This type of injury usually requires surgery and comes with a long recovery.
The Bengals allegedly sent pictures of Burrow’s damage to Dr. Robert Anderson, a foot specialist, to determine if surgery is needed. In that case, Recovering Sideline Hole for Up To Three months – essentially the whole of the normal season.

The team confirmed that Burrow is dealing with a toe injury, although no decision has been made as to whether he needs surgery. The damage took place in the second quarter when Arik Armstead fired Burrow. He stayed on the grass and threw his helmet in frustration.

In the next series, after Bengal’s captured Trevor Lawrence, Backup Jake Browning entered the game while Burrow was helped to the closet for evaluation.
Browning continued to lead Bengals to a comeback victory and dived into the final zone with only a few seconds left in the fourth quarter to seal a 31-27 win.

Cincinnati improved to 2-0 to start the 2025 season, but the franchise holds its breath, which Burrow could return before rather than later. The Bengals missed the playoffs last year despite Burrow’s strong season as he led the NFL with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns on the way to being named comeback player of the year.
However, injuries have been a recurring challenge for the 28-year-old quarterback. He tore several ligaments in his left knee in 2020 and suffered a torn wrist tape in 2023, with both injuries ending his season too early.

A message from Bengals could come as early as Monday, but it is expected that Burrow will be excluded at least for next week’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
