Pakistani delegation, led by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, completed his Brussels tour and urged European leaders to help step down tensions with India after a fragile ceasefire in May.
The delegation was formed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to present Islamabad’s perspective on his recent conflict with India. The purpose of the trip was to receive international support, especially from the European Union, to prevent further escalation between the two nuclear armed neighbors.
“We must rule the region back from the gland of the war,” Bilawal said in a statement on social media, calling on Europe to act as a master of the rules -based international order.

During their Brussels visit, the delegation met with EU parliamentarians, the EU Commission, the Belgian leadership, international think tanks and foreign media. The delegation pressed for for dialogue and terrorism – collaboration with India and emphasized the dangers of a nuclear conflict.
He also highlighted the challenges that India’s Suspension faced in the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960, which controls the common use of the Indus River System.
The Pakistani delegation expressed serious concerns about India’s “weapons” of water resources and called for restraint after the ceasefire agreement by Washington in May.
“Europe, as a master of international law, will help us step down this situation,” Bilawal said. He also raised concerns about the risk of further water conflicts and noted that the Indus Waters Treaty had not yet been revived despite the ceasefire.

Sherry Rehman, a prominent member of the delegation, said that while some members would return to Pakistan, others would visit Strasbourg for further discussions. She emphasized that the global diplomatic framework must be restored to face growing stress on international law.
