PPP chairman and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday called on the international community to play his role in the mediation of an immediate ceasefire as Iran-Israel military confrontation threatens to spiral out of control and warn that the world “cannot afford this conflict to become Iraq 2.0 or 2 World War I”.
Addressing a press conference in Brussels along with a parliamentary delegation expressed Bilawal concern over growing regional instability and the potential fallout for neighboring countries. “We certainly do not want war against our boundaries,” he said.
“Pakistan has condemned the strikes that took place in the last few days in our neighboring country, and we will continue to advance to peace on all our borders – be it with Afghanistan, Iran or India.”

He criticized what he called Global Failure to Solving Conflicts Diplomatic, and said, “It has become too easy to wage war every month. What’s wrong with this generation? You should protect us from the scourge of war through dialogue and diplomacy. Instead, the standard setting has become the standard setting for any dispute.”
When he highlights the generational consequences of war, he added: “It is far easier for older generations to start these conflicts, but it is my generation that will have to pick up the pieces.”
The former Foreign Minister called for restraint in the Middle East and said, “I definitely urge the international community to play his role in immediately introducing a ceasefire in this Iranian conflict with the occupation forces in Palestine. We cannot have another gasoline war. It serves none of our interests.”

When Bilawal turned to regional issues, Bilawal Pakistan’s desire for sustained peace in South Asia, especially through the solution of the long-standing Kashmir-twist and water-related problems with India. He said that Pakistan had consistently sought peace through composite dialogue, but India had failed to retaliate.
“The international community has to step up and engage in India. Military confrontation is not a solution to Kashmir -Tvisten or Terrorism. Dialogue is the only way forward,” he emphasized, calling it a “moral obligation” for world powers to help both countries return to the negotiating table.
The PPP chairman warned that escalation between two nuclear states was not an option. “Stapping is not a solution to the questions that confront India and Pakistan,” he said.
He also criticized India for unilaterally suspending the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) and called it a direct threat to Pakistan’s survival. “This is the first water war between two nuclear forces. Pakistan considers it a war without election and seeking the help of International Society in this regard.”

With reference to the situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Bilawal said Pakistan had offered impartial investigations of events such as the Pahagam attack, but India refused. He urged the United Nations to place Kashmir -Tvisten at the top of his agenda as it had been unresolved for decades.
“The Jammu and Kashmir blanket must be resolved in accordance with the UN Security Council’s decisions,” he said. Bilawal was flanked by parliamentary delegation members, including federal Minister of Climate Change, Dr. Musadik Malik, PPP senator Sherry Rehman, former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, former Defense Minister Khurram Dastgir and others.
“We are here to present Pakistan’s attitude to the recent tensions with India and postpone New Delhi’s Anti-Pakistan agenda,” Bilawal concluded.
