Lahore:

After spending two days in Lahore, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Multan on Sunday, scheduled to visit flooded areas.

According to party officers, Bilawal arrived in Multan in the afternoon, accompanied by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, and was received by Senate President Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani.

Monday (today) he will visit Gillani Darma Tent City before continuing to Muzaffargarh to continue his visits with flooded affected communities. From Muzaffargarh, Bilawal is expected to travel along the way to SUKKUR, SINDH.

During his stay in Lahore earlier, senior PPP leaders, including Central Punjab President and former Prime Minister Raja Perez Ashraf, traveled, former federal minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Information Secretary Nadeem Afzal Chan and Secretary -General Hasan Murtaza, the question of pending approvals for the party’s omitization.

According to a source, however, the President gave no answer.

The source also claimed that Bilawal deliberately kept the party’s ranks and files “dysfunctional” by withholding reorganization and sent a clear message to leaders to “lay low”.

He added that after Bilawal’s conciliatory words for Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz, party leaders in Punjab were left without anything useful in their weapons.

However, PPP General Hasan Murtaza offered a partial contradiction and maintained that the chairman had only asked the leaders to wait until after the floods, as party workers were currently involved in relief activities.

“After the floods, we will call a provincial CEC meeting and, after its approval, forward the name to the President’s office,” he said.
