Islamabad:
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zze said Wednesday that politicization of water by violating the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) was a form of “hybrid warfare” and if they continued, future generations would be in war over water.
In a speech with the media, Pakistan and India agreed on a ceasefire after intense drone and missile exchange, the PPP chief warned that India’s claim of ‘new normal’ in cross-border conflicts risked harming regional peace and stability, especially between the two nuclear armed neighbors.
He Chided Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on Operation Sindoor, which set a new standard. Bilawal noted that Pakistan traded with restraint and had only exerted his right to self -defense. “The international community recognized our responsible behavior.”
“India’s new normal aggression is not sustainable and is certainly not in its interest,” Bilawal said. “This approach, which is rooted in hatred and division, only escalates tension,” he added.
Bilawal will lead a high -level delegation awarded by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit world capitals, with the aim of mapping foreign governments, media and parliaments in Pakistan’s attitude and India’s recent actions.
He said sustained peace in South Asia remained impossible without solving key issues, including Jammu and Kashmir-Test, cross-border terrorism and India’s alleged weapons of water resources.
Accompanying Bilawal accused Climate Minister Musadik Malik India of targeting civilians and building a false tale of dominance. “Their rafale jet plane fell like birds,” he claimed, referring to Indian military losses.
Former Foreign Minister Khurram Dastgir, also part of the delegation, said that India’s attitude reflected an anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan agenda. “This is not the construction of a responsible state,” he added.
