Bilawal slams PTIS ‘Fascist’ Government in KP

Islamabad/Quetta:

Pakistan Peoples Party President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has accused Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf-Led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) The government to try to shield “violent corruption” by blocking the PEP’s peaceful protest and calling the move a failed attempt to assume dissent.

In a statement, Bilawal condemned the use of tear gas against PPP’s political workers who had taken the streets of KP to protest against lawlessness and rising unemployment in the province.

“It is deeply regrettable that peaceful political workers were targeted at the cheers of tear gas,” he said, adding, “we are not the ones to be coned by such cheap tactics. Our persecution of this corrupt and incompetent provincial government will continue.”

The PPP chairman also paralyzed the PTI-LED KP administration and called his action against unarmed political activists as an act of cowardice. “By loosening violence against unpaid workers, the PTI government has shown its true colors,” he added.

Bilawal said ‘Save the Province Movement’ (SUBA BACHAO TEHREEK) had now become the voice of every citizen of KP. “We won’t be intimidated by batons and brute force,” he claimed.

He maintained that PPP workers were fully prepared to confront the corrupt KP government’s head-on. “The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have now seen the real fascist face of PTI’s provincial government,” he added.

Meanwhile, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi also raised serious concerns about the performance of the provincial government and accused it of widespread corruption and a non-maintenance of law and order.

While talking to journalists outside the Balochistan assembly, Governor criticized the Kundi provincial government and claimed that key members in the provincial company, including CEO, were involved in greater financial mismatch.

He said incorrect leadership and subordinates involving billions of rupis had weakened the government structure and left the public without relief.

He expressed an alarm about the security situation and claimed that the provincial authorities had effectively provided grounds for militant elements. “The public is suffering, but those in charge do not respond. Terrorist groups are acting freely and the government seems to be unable to stop them,” he added.

Referring to a recent bombing that demanded the lives of several children, the governor said the incident highlighted a pattern of repeated security errors.

He pointed out that similar attacks had occurred in the past, especially in Khyber, and regretted that vulnerable societies remained frequent goals of such violence.
