Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has issued a strong warning to the federal government, stating that the controversial channel projects could jeopardize the unity of the Federation.

He demanded that the federal authorities withdrew the proposed channel initiatives or risk losing PPP’s support in the ruling coalition, Express News reported.

In a public rally in Hyderabad on Friday, Bilawal congratulated his party with his recent election victory in Umerkot and praised the population of Sindh for continuing to stand with the legacy of the late Benazir Bhutto.

“The population of Sindh has once again proven that the arrow is their only mandate,” he said, referring to PPP’s electoral symbol.

He criticized the Islamabad leadership and said, “The population of Sindh has rejected the channel projects, but those in Islamabad remain blind and deaf for our votes. Out of six channels, two were approved by prisoners No. 420,” a blurred reference to a political rival. “Let it be clear – we’re against your project,” he claimed.

Bilawal emphasized that the question of water distribution could threaten national cohesion. “We did shehbaz Sharif prime minister not once, but twice. And now you think you can scare us with threats?” He asked.

When he was souring out on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), he claimed their projects consistently harm the agricultural sector. “Every initiative supported by the ‘Lion Party’ is an anti-farmer. The wheat scandal has financially destroyed our farmers,” he said. “They only bleed people dry without offering any real solutions.”

He confirmed his party’s attitude, he declared, “The government should not be under any illusion – I will not go back. I stand with the people.” In a last warning, Bilawal declared that PPP will not remain part of the coalition if the federal government does not withdraw the controversial channel projects.
